Scientific Computing in Practice: Winter Kickstart & Triton User Group Meeting 2016

Part of Scientific Computing in Practice lecture series at Aalto University.

Audience: Triton users (Aalto employees and students) or those thinking of becoming one.

About the course: informal presentation of Triton facilities. In Dec 2015 / Jan 2016 Triton has got a major upgrade in both hardware and software parts. Let us see what we got. For the newcomers we will go through the Triton best practices, show what one can do and how on the cluster. For the mature users: you will hear a comprehensive update on how the cluster has changed since 2015.

User group meeting. Triton update news, user comments and ideas, informal seminar type of event. Slides (PDF). Open for everyone, especially advanced users are welcome.

Other comments: For the kickstart you are welcome to bring your laptop with you, there will be lots of examples that one may want to try right away. If you have no account on Triton we will provide with the temporary access. If you bring a laptop, make sure it has the pre-installed SSH client and that you can use Aalto WiFis (preferably Eduroam, otherwise Aalto or Aalto Open).

Can you participate without laptop? Yes, sure, there will be lots of useful info anyway.
